Cloud Services: Cost Optimization and Agility
By implementing code-based development environments, our clients have raised the maturity level of their cloud services.
Agile Infrastructure
Pragma's agile infrastructure capacity aims to guide and assist our customers in adopting and using cloud services. Our work focuses on understanding the customer's business to create modern, efficient, and profitable solutions for maintaining business reliability, continuity, and operational efficiency. These attributes are critical in today's rapidly changing environments.
For this purpose, we streamline infrastructure-related processes focused on cost optimization. We also construct infrastructure provisioning and management to be agile, highly elastic, repeatable and scalable.
We accomplish these objectives by Infrastructure as Code to implement environments. Thus, a template of all required elements to deploy projects is used as a basis, saving 60 - 70% deployment time.

About Grupo Familia
Grupo Familia (business group, with operations in South America and the Caribbean) promotes well-being and increased quality of life through personal hygienic solutions. its brands include Familia, Nosotras, Pequeñín, Tena, Petys, and Familia Institucional.
The Challenge
Pragma and Grupo Familia had been working together for more than 18 hears. In 2001, it had chosen Pragma as its partner to build core technologies to support its omnichannel strategy. This project aimed at the efficient deployment of all its digital initiatives.

What we did
For Familia, their portals needed to provide a unique experience and, therefore, opted to renew their websites. The Pragma infrastructure and architecture teams proposed the necessary resources to begin migration and technology upgrades.

Results
Tena's was the first to renew, followed by Nosotras. We made the following changes to reduce project consts by 40-50%.
- We transitioned from two servers (content and databases) to a flexible, scalable microservices architecture.
- By turning servers off on weekends, we avoided 24/7 usage.
- We implemented Infrastructure as Code to automate resource provisioning, reducing resource provisioning times.
- Reduced time mandated for deployment.

About Viliv
VILIV was born from the partnership between Grupo Sura (a MultiLatin company) and Grupo Bancolombia (Colombia's largest bank) to strengthen leaders and their companies to achieve more effective results.
The Challenge
Pragma was the initiative's technology partner, assisting in developing a more attractive and navigable website. VILIV wanted to engage AWS's cloud services, specifically serverless computing. As a result, it selected Pragma, an AWS's advanced consulting partner, for the project.

What we did
-
Achieved automation using serverless services, following AWS good architecture, security, and cost-efficiency practices, and rapidly attained to the necessary infrastructure for the required environments.
-
Employed micro-frontend architecture to prevent product evolution and deployment from rendering the enf-user version unavailable at some point.
-
Adopted the DevOps culture and automated repetitive tasks to speed up the deployment of product value increases.
-
Continually made cost-cutting decisions, even changing services or improving the architecture as needed.
