Making our customers' technology reach its full potential and transform lives by making smart use of the cloud is an essential part of what we do at Pragma. That is why we are pleased to announce that we will be part of the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program for the third consecutive year.

Kelly Marín Palacio, cloud infrastructure architect and part of the cloud business development team, explains that AWS has a framework of best practices based on six pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability.

AWS partners in the Well-Architected Partner Program have demonstrated their ability to perform in-depth reviews of their customers' digital asset architecture. This allows them to detect different types of risks that affect application performance. In some cases, such as Pragma's, it also allows them to provide technical recommendations and services to remediate the detected risks.

The points of improvement that can be found thanks to a Well-Architechitected Review are very varied and can range from identifying that the applications are not ready to face security incidents or are not prepared to receive an unexpected increase in demand to identifying that costs can be optimized in the use of resources.

Benefits of having a Well-Architected Review with Pragma

During the first years that Pragma was within the Well-Architected Partner Program, one of the main objectives was to certify the knowledge of some pragmatists in both the AWS best practices framework and the methodologies needed to conduct an assessment. Recently, Pragma's efforts have been focused on demonstrating its ability to detect critical risks and, above all, to remediate them.

In 2023, Pragma completed more than 30 reviews, thus achieving its permanence within the group of AWS partners that are part of this initiative. This experience, although important, is just one of the benefits of doing a Well-Architected Review with Pragma.

"Only partners that are part of the program can offer credit benefits to customers. For example, if Pragma does a review and the customer asks us to help remediate at least 45% of the high risks we have detected, the customer can earn up to $5,000 in AWS credits," says Marin.

Pragma's tenure within the AWS Well-Architect Partner Program adds to a series of milestones achieved during 2023, including Retail and Data and Analytics Competency certifications and the AWS Rising Star award for Pragma's outstanding work as an AWS partner in the region.
