We did it! Pragma became an AWS Gen AI Competency Partner

We are proud to announce that we are one of the first companies in the region to obtain the AWS Gen AI Competency.

For Manuela Inés Díaz Hernández, Head of Business Value and Alliances, the achievement was a foregone conclusion; it should have been in the plans: "Our resources are in place to be one step ahead. And as we had already been doing it, the speed with which we were able to certify that we knew the models with Gen AI was very fast."

And such an achievement is to be celebrated. At Pragma, we aim to improve people's lives, which is why we understand that generative artificial intelligence is an excellent tool for achieving it today. "We started by understanding AWS's new solutions [with Generative Artificial intelligence] and crossed them with user problems. We realized that there were some very big benefits there for all stakeholders. The results from those solutions have been more impactful than I expected; they have exceeded our expectations," adds Diaz.

Pragma, as an AWS Advanced Partner, has robust experience in consulting and implementing cloud solutions. The Gen AI Competency expands the range of services for those who dare to live the experience and want to make a difference in their companies.
To advance with the Gen AI certification, in Pragma, we set ourselves the challenges to intervene effectively in four companies, and the results were obvious: total success, real impact on the business, and on the developer's productivity.

For example, in the case of a CPG client that was looking to modernize its solutions (Java 8 and 11) to improve security, performance, and scalability, we implemented an innovative solution with Amazon Q Developer. Thanks to this, we could automate the upgrade to Java 17, thus modernizing and optimizing its technological architecture, gaining efficiency, reducing costs, and improving its competitive capacity.

The same happened with Pirani, a risk managememant software that sought to make identifying and defining risks easier for its clients. In this case, we provided them with solutions through Amazon Bedrock to create a virtual assistant that uses a proprietary knowledge base to interact with the user, assisting them in the risk definition process and reducing the operational burden by 30%.

"We have the technical knowledge, we have applied it, and we know how to boost companies with artificial intelligence solutions, both in the retail and financial sectors," says Ana María Vega Botero, Alliance Manager, and adds:" Our clients are doing very well because they have a partner that understands the local context, the region, their challenges, and where they are in their maturity stage, a partner who can translate complex technologies and apply them.

Pragmatics are also winners in this process.

Today, with more than 200 professionals with AWS certifications, at Pragma, we continue to reaffirm a place of reference in the country and the Americas, but above all, we continue with the process of providing our employees with a space for growth and remarkable evolution.

For Manuela Díaz, this certification is undoubtedly a well-deserved reward for several years of effort, but also an incentive for what is just around the corner: "We are always looking at how they can do their work better, how technology is evolving, where these new visions of interesting projects are going to be, where we are positioning ourselves. And basically, that's going to enhance their career."

Pragma is making great strides as part of a select group of AWS partners. Last year, we celebrated the recognition of being the first Colombian company to obtain the Data and Analytics Competency, which was added to those of Devops, Advertising and Marketing Technology, and Retail. Similarly, we obtained the distinction and received the AWS Rising Star award for our relevant contribution as a partner.

"It is Pragma's vision of investing in understanding what is coming, testing it effectively with clients and accounts, and being able to draw real transformations from it, which means that we can quickly have the competence required by a business case, a case of impact on people and a technological case," emphasizes Díaz Hernández.

The invitation is more than open for those who are looking for the best partner to enhance their projects. Vega Botero sums it up better than anyone: "I would tell the client to feel reassured. We know there is a lot of information on this technology, and we understand businesses are complex. That's why we are ready to accompany them throughout the process, taking all the steps they need to leverage the technology, even if they are at the beginning. We understand the complexity and simplify it for your company."
